Based out of the Caton Farm Garage. Keeps WCDOT Maintenance Garage’s and Administration Building in a clean and orderly condition, performing any combination of required duties. Performs basic maintenance and repair of all hand tools and other small equipment, such as chain saws, weed whipper, and other similar items. May operate snow removal equipment (Road Maintainer wage shall apply if operating a vehicle requiring a CDL license with Air Brake Endorsement).
High school graduation or equivalency preferred. Prior experience in a Maintenance Worker type position, Building and Grounds Maintenance Assistant, Janitor, or similar background required. Possession of a valid CDL Class A or B with Air Brakes endorsement required. Must be able to lift, push, pull and move material/equipment weighing up to 50 pounds routinely and up to 100 pounds occasionally. Will be exposed to year-round outdoor weather conditions. Subject to a Criminal Background Check, pre-employment Drug Screening Test and /or Drug and Alcohol Test, Driver’s License Check, and an Employee Physical. This position is subject to FMCSA Clearinghouse Pre-employment Queries on any potential new DOT FMCSA regulated driver prior to placement in a safety-sensitive position.
