Will County Executive Office

Aides assigned manager and/or deputy in the execution of work that is complex and difficult regarding the responsibilities of the Supervisor of Assessments office and all its functions. Performs all responsibilities exceptionally with little to no supervision for extended periods of time. Serves as the lead resource to the SOA, Deputies, and Assistant Deputies in the performance of their job duties in accordance with administrative policies. Serves as technical support to the assigned deputy on duties as assigned; able to multi-task and have strong interpersonal skills while meeting short deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Supports assigned deputy in quality control of all mapping and plating work relating to and regarding the Supervisor of Assessments office. Duties may include lead roles and specialized contribution to many or all the following areas: Technology, Internal and External Communications, GIS, and Mapping and Platting. Must have proficient knowledge and training in all above-mentioned areas of the Supervisor of Assessments office. Provide technical guidance and assistance in the exemption process to assessment assistants and taxpayers. Must have a sophisticated understanding of Property Tax Code relating to exemptions. Able to interpret documents and qualifying letters from other government agencies.

High school graduation or equivalency required. Knowledge with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Preferred knowledge of typing. 3-years of similar job experience required. 1-year supervisory experience preferred. Knowledge of Illinois Property Tax Code and the role of Assessments, Exemptions, GIS, and Mapping and Platting preferred. Knowledgeable of CAMA systems, CAD, and GIS. Valid State of Illinois Driver’s License and minimum insurance as required by law. CIAO designation or equivalent as outlined under 35 ILCS 200/2-45 within 1 year of acceptance.

SALARY RANGE:      $50,000/yr. – $75,000/yr DOQ
