
Village of Wilmette
The Village is seeking to hire a Part-time Accountant in the Finance Department. The person in this position will work up to 25 hours per week under the supervision of the Assistant Finance Director.
General Responsibilities
The Part-time Accountant will assist with payroll, accounts payable, purchasing, annual audits, special projects and other related tasks as assigned.
Position Requirements
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a high school diploma with successful completion of accounting coursework, and one to three years of experience in municipal accounting, or an equivalent combination of experience and training to perform the functions of the position. The essential functions include the working knowledge of payroll and accounts payable functions; ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing with others; ability to prioritize, organize and complete required duties in a timely and accurate manner. Candidate should be proficient in various business computer software packages, including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Tyler Technologies’ MUNIS financial software and SSRS Reports (preferably).
Compensation and Benefits
The hourly pay range is $38.40 to $50.97 with a starting hourly rate DOQ. This position includes 40 hours of paid time off (PTO), participation in a retirement plan through the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF), Employee Assistance Program (EAP), and the ability to participate in medical, dependent care and transportation flexible spending accounts. Selection Process
