Village of Itasca

The Village of Itasca is seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team as the Communications/Administrative Intern. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in marketing and administrative tasks within our organization.

Responsibilities:

Communications Support:

  • Assists in crafting and scheduling engaging content for our social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and the Village’s website.
  • Monitors social media channels for comments, messages, and mentions.
  • Helps other Village departments with their social media campaigns and promotions.
  • Proofreads the Village newsletter and other marketing materials for accuracy and clarity.
  • Helps with photography during special events as needed.

Administrative Support:

  • Provides general administrative support including data entry, filing, and scanning.
  • Provides front desk coverage during absences, such as greeting visitors, answering phone calls, and assisting with inquiries
  • Performs other administrative tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university program, preferably in communications, marketing, business administration, or a related field.
  • Strong communications skills, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of social media platforms and familiarity with social media management tools.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Canva.

Hours & Compensation:  This position is open to individuals seeking full-time work during the summer season only or those looking for part-time hours throughout the entire year. Starting hourly wage will be $18.00/hr.
