Under the direct supervision of the Mayor, the ideal candidate will manage the Village of Bolingbrook’s online presence and develop/implement social media marketing strategies. This individual will also assist with confidential secretarial, and administrative duties.

Shift:               Monday – Friday 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, but may be extended due to unexpected workloads, meetings, or events.

Location:        375 W. Briarcliff Road, Bolingbrook, Illinois, 60440

Salary:            $70,000.00 to $80,000.00 annually (based on qualifications)

Examples of Duties:

  • Prepares confidential correspondence and memos, both self-composed, written and/or dictated for or by the Mayor and Village Attorney,
  • Schedules & coordinates special events,
  • Creates “weekly wraps up’s” on social medial platforms,
  • Creates literature and other forms of communication,
  • Composes and reviews letters, and speeches,
  • Coordinates special projects for various community and employee events,
  • Assists with resident inquiries and provides accurate information,
  • Expand the reach and visibility of the Village by conceptualizing, creating, and producing engaging content for various social media channels, ensuring it resonates with the target audience and outlined strategy,
  • Maintains high-quality content and a consistent posting schedule to keep people engaged and reach broader audiences,
  • Stays up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies to bring fresh ideas and creative approaches to social content production,
  • Analyzes data and insights to optimize content for maximum reach, engagement, and conversion across social media platforms,
  • Conducts website audits to enhance resident experience,
  • Collaborating with different departments to provide attractive and informative social media campaigns,
  • Performs other tasks as required or assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications & Media, Journalism, Digital Marketing, Public Relations, or related field.
  • Work independently and effectively under stress,
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in the performance of duties,
  • Prior experience using Canva, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Premiere Pro is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of social media analytics and metrics,
  • Creative thinking and content creation abilities
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and social media management tools
  • Excellent communication skills and strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Reside in a community (or unincorporated areas) within the State of Illinois which falls within a thirteen (13) miles radius of the intersection of Briarcliff Road and North Bolingbrook Drive (Route 53), within six (6) months of the date the probationary period ends.
