The Village of Barrington’s Public Works Department is seeking a team-player to fill this newly created position of Buildings and Grounds Foreman. This is a great opportunity to develop your career with an award-winning Public Works Department.
Working under the general direction of the Streets Superintendent, this position plans, assigns, supervises, and performs work related to the maintenance and repair of municipal buildings and grounds. painting, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, roofing, HVAC, irrigation, and landscaping. Administrative oversight of contractors is required.
Qualified candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent supplemented by specialized coursework related to the maintenance and repair of buildings and grounds. At least two years supervisory experience and a minimum of five years of experience in buildings and grounds maintenance and repair operations is required (municipal setting preferred). Must be proficient in principles of office management and digital record keeping including Microsoft Office. A Valid Illinois Class B CDL with airbrakes endorsement is required. Essential duties will include lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds and up to 100 pounds on occasion either with or without a reasonable accommodation.
The salary range is $76,000 – $100,761 annually, depending on qualifications. Excellent benefits include medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, IMRF pension, deferred compensation plan, personal, vacation, sick and holiday paid time off.
