NSMJAWA

The Northwest Suburban Municipal Joint Action Water Agency (NSMJAWA, Agency), a government organization, is looking to fill the position of full-time Information Technology (IT) Coordinator working at the O’Hare Airport Main Pumping Station (MPS). The primary duty would be to oversee and implement software and hardware upgrades and routine maintenance at both Administrative Office (Elk Grove Village) & MPS Local Area Network (LAN) locations. And managing the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) computer systems. Additional duties include assisting employees with IT needs, cellular and landline phone management, camera systems upkeep, backup systems, cybersecurity implementations, attendance at management or Executive Committee or Board meetings, as needed, representing NSMJAWA in a professional manner, and providing support, as necessary. This position reports to the Operations Manager.

WORK HOURS:

Mon-Fri, 7 AM – 4 PM. Full-Time Exempt Position. Ability to work any hours, including those outside normal business hours, as required. Must be available for emergencies, as necessary.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

·         Good knowledge of information systems analysis, design, construction, integration, operation, security, and maintenance

·         Maintain and manage backups of all files, servers and network equipment.

·         Configure and set up user computer workstations and provide user support for the computing needs of all personnel.

·         Knowledgeable on the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems.

·         Develop, review and revise cybersecurity emergency response plan

·         Research, recommend and implement cybersecurity measures including cyber insurance, training staff, and other processes and procedures required to maintain and keep the Operational Technology (OT) systems safe including cybersecurity awareness training using KnowBe4

·         Manage IT/OT consultants’ work including planning, budgeting, and implementation of capital improvement plan

·         Administer Internet Protocol (IP) telephone system when necessary.

·         Ongoing maintenance and configuration of Fortinet firewall security and connectivity for main office

·         Support user workstations with standard administration and upkeep

·         Initial and ongoing administration of GIS/GPS, work order tracking systems, namely Lucity, and reporting software, Ignition and VantagePoint

·         Research, set up and create and maintain a website, when authorized, including hosting, dashboard and ongoing content management

·         Knowledge of general server and workstation configuration for GE iFix /SCADA systems for initial troubleshooting and general maintenance (or ability to learn)

·         Manage MaaS360 MDM platform to maintain proper security and usage of all mobile devices

·         Maintain, manage, and be the staff liaison for cellular phones and tablets

·         Maintain and manage IT/OT vendor/contractor and research new third-party vendors

·         Ability to maintain/configure Cisco 4G/54G routers utilizing Cisco IOS CLI

·         Available for after-hours response/troubleshooting to maintain a high availability environment

·         Research, recommend and implement new technologies to ensure the agency stays current with emerging IT trends

·         Perform ongoing maintenance and upkeep of online MS Exchange policies and email accounts

·         In-depth knowledge of Microsoft server and desktop operating systems.

·         Capacity to learn ins and outs of water operator duties and responsibilities to better support the Agency’s needs and provide future backup of water operators

·         Develop a 5-yr IT/OT Capital Improvement Plan including prioritizing capital projects and project cost estimates

·         Research and provide information in compliance with OMA/FOIA

·         Create, review and update IT administrative directives and policies

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Position requires a bachelor’s degree or an associate degree in information technology or computer science or related field. A minimum of five years’ work experience in managing IT & OT systems with emphasis on PLC, SCADA, HMI systems, cybersecurity, and OT network systems integration and IT/OT project management. In addition, experience using Microsoft applications and networking technologies, network switches, firewalls, and industrial control applications is a plus. Appropriate work experience may be considered in lieu of education.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

A valid State of Illinois or equivalent driver’s license is required. Works in cooperation with staff to always ensure a safe work environment and adherence to applicable environmental health and safety regulations, policies and guidelines including Illinois Department of Labor Standards, OSHA, and other applicable local, state, and federal safety standards. Ability to make critical decisions and to master new skills as the situation demands. Good interpersonal and oral communication skills. Self-motivated with ability to handle multiple assignments with competing priorities. Self-starting, requiring minimal supervision. Must have excellent time management and documentation abilities. This position requires the use of computers and water-system operation controls.

SALARY RANGE:      $57.59/hour – $73.58/hour
