The City of Aurora is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Confidential Secretary in the Human Resources Department.
Under the general supervision of the Director of Human Resources, the Confidential Secretary will perform secretarial duties of varied complexity and provide administrative support for Human Resources activities including recruitment, compensation, training, benefits, compliance, employee relations, record keeping, and related activities.
The duties of this position include but are not limited to: Maintain accurate and up-to-date human resource files and records; Assist with record retention; Support process for new hires by assisting with paperwork as well as making and distributing employee IDs, welcome bags, and parking passes; Provide support in the day-to-day office function including maintaining office supplies and equipment; Assist with maintaining the calendar and scheduling meetings as needed for HR staff; Support annual employee benefits open enrollment process; Manage various HR processes including employee translation testing, education reimbursement, conference requests, and employment verifications; Process employee changes to address and demographics; Collect and distribute office mail; Create and distribute a variety of employee communications, materials, and messaging in multiple formats that effectively inform and educate employees on HR programs; Respond to general HR-related inquiries from employees and the public in person, on the phone, and over email; Other duties as assigned.
This position requires a high school diploma or GED; Associate’s Degree is preferred. This position also requires two (2) years progressively responsible secretarial experience. Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Must successfully pass pre-hire requirements including but not limited to a physical, drug screen, and background check.
This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Starting hourly pay is $25.01/hr, depending on experience and qualifications.
