Definition: Under general supervision, performs secretarial and clerical duties.
This position is represented by the AFSCME union.
Shift: Monday – Friday 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
Salary: $47,148.39
Assignment: Community Development
Examples Duties & Responsibilities:
- Screens visitors and phone calls, with a primary responsibility of working the front counter.
- Prepares and maintains records & files, and initiates correspondence,
- Prepares bulletins, directives, press releases and public notices,
- Prepares documents, purchase orders and check requests,
- Schedules appointments,
- Coordinates projects with outside agencies and other departments,
- Provides information to the public, including developers and builders,
- Prepares and maintains records relating to Plan Commission, and Zoning Board of Appeals membership and activities.
- Oversees process for issuing sign and express permits,
- Prepares statistical information regarding plan commission and planning division activities.
- Performs other tasks as required, or as assigned, which are within the scope of the duties enumerated pertaining to the Job Description.
Requirements:
- High-school graduate or equivalent.
- Ability to interact professionally with residents and the general public.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, cash registers, telephones, and calculators.
- Knowledge of OpenGov software preferred.
- Communicate clearly and concisely both verbally & non-verbally.
- Ability to respond quickly and accurately under pressure.
- Ability to walk, stand, or sit for long periods of time.
- Ability to work independently.
- Reside within thirty (30) miles of the center of the Village of Bolingbrook (as determined by the Public Works Department), or within a municipality, any portion of which is located within thirty (30) miles of the center of the Village of Bolingbrook, within six (6) months of the date the probationary period ends.
