The La Grange Fire Department is seeking a diverse pool of applicants for the position of Firefighter Paramedic. La Grange (pop. 16,321) is a vibrant community offering walkable and charming neighborhoods surrounding a bustling downtown that features dozens of diverse restaurants, numerous independent shops, and national retail tenants. Located at the crossroads of La Grange Road, Ogden Avenue, and the Metra BNSF line, over 50,000 vehicles, commuters, and pedestrians stream through downtown La Grange every day.

The Fire Department provides fire, rescue, and EMS services, including ALS transportation. A fully career department staffed with 18 sworn personnel, are assigned to six shifts on a 24/48 schedule. Each shift is led by a Captain with one Lieutenant and four firefighters, members of IAFF Local 2338, with a minimum of five personnel on duty at all times. In 2022, the fire department responded to 2440 incidents; nearly two-thirds of these were EMS requests.

Starting at $70,581; top after 6 years: $101,610
