Village of Tinley Park

The Village of Tinley Park is seeking talented & motivated individual to join the HR team in the role of Human Resources Coordinator to provide general day-to-day administrative support and administer various HR programs working with employees, vendors, and effectively coordinating with other Village departments.

This position will respond to HR inquiries related to recruitment/benefits/training, complete HR data entry, and provide other support as needed to assist employees in understanding HR policies and benefit program offerings.  Will administer village-wide training initiatives and employee recognition programs.

In addition, will assist recruitment function with placing advertisements, assisting with the pre-employment process and on-boarding programs, and processing new hire documentation.   Will also coordinate various HR programs including maintaining the employee portal, coordinating employee recognition programs, annual benefits open enrollments, benefit data feed files, benefit and wellness fairs, HR vendor on-site or virtual visits, on-site employee training, internal HR trainings/meetings, DOT administration, PSEBA administration, retiree benefits administration, monthly benefits reconciliation, monthly union reporting, records retention and maintenance of employee files, employee surveys, HR department vendor and billing management, and other special projects.

Associate’s degree is required.   Concentration in Human Resources Management, Public Administration, or Business Administration is preferred.  A minimum of two (2) years administrative experience is required.  Prior Human Resources experience highly preferred. Strong computer skills, including experience with benefit systems (ie. Employee Navigator) and experience with NEOGOV Insight, Onboarding, Perform, Learn, and eForms is a plus. SHRM-CP and/or PHR is a plus.

The ideal candidate will possess an outstanding work ethic, positive attitude, and be self-motivated.  They will be passionate about providing administrative support to support the overall HR office operation while working with individuals across the organization to build strong working relationships.   They will be able to multi-task, anticipate challenges, and take on new things with excitement in a fast-paced environment.  They will be an excellent communicator and demonstrate solid written and presentation skills.   They must be able to maintain strict confidentiality and use necessary discretion to protect the privacy of all employee information in accordance with Village policies, procedures, and practices as required by federal and state law.

Pay & Benefits:  Pay range $28.02 to $39.24 hourly.  The Village of Tinley Park offers a generous benefit package including medical, dental, and vision benefits, employer-paid life insurance and other ancillary benefit options.  Retirement benefits through the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) are provided along with the option to participate in a 457(b) deferred compensation plan.  In addition, paid holiday, vacation, personal, and sick days are provided.
